We’re celebrating not one, but TWO, holidays today with an exclusive recipe that we’re so excited to share with you. It’s National Dessert Day today, and, Halloween this month! For the occasions we baked spooky Halloween brownies using our all-time favorite recipe: Sheila G’s Butter & Chocolate Signature Brownies. We met Sheila at the Fancy Food Show at her Brownie Brittle booth (and made sure to get a signed copy of her brownie-themed cookbook Butter & Chocolate). She has one of the best classic brownies recipes out there -- we swear by it! We spookified it by adding chopped pieces of our Halloween pretzels, white chocolate chips, and festive orange and black sprinkles. Double dare you to take a stab at baking these pretzel brownies today!
Brownies Recipe Ingredients
-3 cups (18 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips
-9 tablespoons (1 stick plus 1 tablespoon) salted butter
-3 large eggs
-1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
-3/4 cup sugar
-3/4 cup all-purpose flour
-3/4 teaspoon baking powder
-1/4 teaspoon salt
-1 1/2 tablespoons baking cocoa
-Handful of white chocolate chips
-Halloween orange and black sprinkles
-Chopped pieces of Fatty Sundays pretzels
Brownies Recipe Directions
-Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 9-by-13-inch pan and set aside.
-Microwave the chocolate chips and butter in a microwave-safe bowl on high for 30 seconds; remove and stir. Return to the microwave if not completely melted and microwave in 15-second intervals until smooth and creamy. Do not overheat or the chocolate will scorch!
-Mix together the eggs, vanilla, and sugar in a separate bowl using an electric mixer set on the lowest speed or a spatula. Blend the egg mixture into the melted chocolate mixture until well combined.
-Add the flour, baking powder, salt, and cocoa to the chocolate mixture and mix well by hand or using the lowest setting on the mixer.
-Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30 minutes, until edges are crisp and the center is completely flat with a crackly surface.
While the brownies are still hot, top them with white chocolate chips, orange and black sprinkles, and chopped up pieces of Fatty Sundays Pretzel Rods. We made this recipe with custom orange and black sprinkle pretzel pieces for a super festive Halloween feel. Simply email us at custom@fattysundays.com to order your custom bulk pretzels!
