A Twist on the Traditional Smores Recipe
We may not be known for making s’mores year round at Fatty Sundays, but we love them nonetheless! For #NationalSmoresDay, we put a special twist on the traditional s’mores. Instead of using graham crackers, we used one of our favorite snacks, our chocolate covered matzah! Our matzah s’mores are super easy and fun to make, and enjoyed by adults and kids alike.
Matzah S’mores Recipe Ingredients:
-Matzah
-Semi-sweet baking chocolate bar, broken into pieces
-Jumbo sized marshmallows
-Rainbow sprinkles (optional)
Matzah S'mores Recipe Directions:
-Melt the baking chocolate pieces in a double boiler over simmering heat
-Dip the matzah halfway in the melted chocolate and cover chocolate with rainbow sprinkles (optional)
-Place chocolate covered matzah in the refrigerator for about an hour
-Once the chocolate is hardened, remove matzah from the refrigerator and set aside
-Place marshmallows on a baking sheet, set oven to broil, and rotate in oven as they brown. Keep an eye on them so they don’t burn!
-Sandwich together two matzah pieces with a melted marshmallow inside! Enjoy immediately!
We sell our plain dark chocolate covered matzah and our rainbow sprinkled matzah for Passover every year in April. Make sure to keep an eye out for it on our website when the time comes! In the meantime, enjoy your matzah s’mores on National S’mores Day!
