Christmas Dessert Recipes

Christmas is almost here, and while some people may be getting excited about opening presents, there's one aspect of the Christmas season we most look forward to: dessert! The holidays bring some of our favorite seasonal desserts, and to help you celebrate the season, here are some delicious ways to incorporate Fatty Sundays treats into your holiday dessert recipes.

Toffee Pretzel Chip Cookies

Nothing beats fresh baked cookies - and these add a Fatty Sundays twist to the holiday classic. Try these out, and your whole family is sure to want more!

Ingredients

  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 teaspoons hot water
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 2 cups Fatty Sundays Toffee Pretzels, crushed (or your favorite flavor)

First, preheat your oven to 350º F. Mix the butter with the white and brown sugar until smooth, then beat the eggs in one at a time. Stir in the vanilla extract. In a separate dish, mix the hot water with the baking soda, then add that to the batter along with salt. Once everything's mixed together, add the pretzel pieces, then scoop onto an ungreased, non-stick baking sheet in large spoonfuls. Bake for 10 minutes, let cool (a little), and dig in!

Cookies & Cream Brownies

Luxurious, rich, chocolate brownies are always a favorite holiday treat – and with Fatty Sundays, you can take yours to the next level!

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 3 cups white sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup butter, melted
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup Fatty Sundays Cookies + Cream Pretzels, crushed (or your favorite flavor)

First, preheat the oven to 350º F, then combine the butter, sugar, and vanilla in a large mixing bowl. Beat in the eggs one at a time – just be sure to wait until everything's mixed together before adding each consecutive egg. In a separate bowl, stir the flour, cocoa powder, and salt until well mixed. Stir this into the egg mixture until blended, then stir in the pretzel pieces. Evenly spread the batter in a baking dish, then bake for about 35 to 40 minutes. Cool the brownies on a wire rack before cutting, and enjoy!

Fatty Sundays Cake Pops

This recipe cheats a little with a pre-made cake mix, but trust us – the end result is well worth it! Here's what you'll need:

Ingredients

  • 1 package of chocolate cake mix (look for 18-19 ounces)
  • 1 container of prepared chocolate frosting (roughly 16 ounces)
  • 1 bar of chocolate flavored confectioners coating (about 3 ounces)
  • 1 package of your favorite Fatty Sundays dipped pretzels – we'd recommend Birthday Cake, Peppermint, or Dark Sprinkle

Follow the package instructions to prepare the cake mix, then once the cake has finished cooking (but before it cools down), crumble it into a large bowl while it's still warm. Add in the chocolate frosting, and mix it together until well blended. On a plate or clean baking sheet, break each Fatty Sundays pretzel stick in half. In a separate glass bowl, melt the confectioners coating in the microwave, stirring it until smooth and even in consistency. Use a melon baller to scoop up the cake and frosting mixture into balls, then attach the ball to the end of a halved pretzel stick such that it forms a "lollipop" with the pretzel as the stick and the cake ball as the "pop." Dip each cake ball into the melted confectioners coating, then place them on wax paper to set. Beautiful, festive, and oh-so-delicious!
