Wintertime with Speculoos Pretzels and Hot Chocolate

Posted on January 27 2017

Baby, it’s cold outside! The weather outside may be frightful, but we have the coziest snack for you to eat by the fire. Our milk chocolate dipped Speculoos pretzels and hot chocolate make for the perfect wintertime treat! The cinnamon taste of the Speculoos pretzels works so well paired with hot chocolate. Here’s our favorite homemade hot chocolate recipe for you to try out.

Homemade Hot Chocolate Recipe Ingredients
(4 servings)
-3 tablespoons cocoa powder
-3 cups whole milk
-6 ounces semisweet chocolate, finely chopped
-3 tablespoons granulated sugar -Whipped cream (optional)
-Fatty Sundays Speculoos pretzels

Homemade Hot Chocolate Recipe Directions
(4 servings)
-Bring ¾ cup water to a simmer in a medium saucepan over medium-high heat
-Whisk in cocoa powder until no lumps remain, then add milk and return to a simmer
-Whisk in chocolate and sugar and cook, whisking frequently, until mixture is smooth and creamy and chocolate is melted, about 5 minutes
-Divide hot chocolate among mugs, top with whipped cream and dust with cocoa powder

Use a Speculoos pretzel rod as a spoon to stir the hot chocolate with! The chocolate will start to melt off of the pretzel and there’s nothing more delicious! Wear your favorite oversized sweater and enjoy this treat by the fire, or by your heater if you live in a tiny NYC apartment like we do. Order your Speculoos pretzels on our website here… and we hope this treat helps you get through the cold winter months!
