Sing Happy Birthday With Birthday Cake Pretzels
Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you. What better way to celebrate than with a cake-batter-flavored pretzel? Our birthday cake pretzels make for a great treat at any age. They're also a great gift to send a special someone on their birthday.
As a spin on a traditional funfetti birthday cake, we created a pretzel infused with birthday cake flavor. They're coated in creamy white chocolate, infused with birthday cake flavoring, then topped with vanilla cookie crumbles mixed with rainbow sprinkles. Each and every bite of this pretzel tastes just like your favorite childhood birthday cake. This unique pretzel is delicious, festive and colorful!
For Fatty Sunday’s birthday this past June (we just turned 7!), our team gathered after a long day of pretzel making and celebrated with a delicious funfetti cake, featuring birthday cake pretzels to top. Read on for the yummy recipe!

Funfetti Birthday Cake Recipe Ingredients
Cake-1 and 2/3 cup all-purpose flour
-1/2 teaspoon baking powder
-1/4 teaspoon baking soda
-1/2 teaspoon salt
-1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
-3/4 cup granulated sugar
-1/4 cup packed light brown sugar
-1 large egg
-1/4 cup sour cream
-3/4 cup milk
-1 tablespoon vanilla extract
-2/3 cup rainbow sprinkles
Vanilla Buttercream
-1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
-3-4 cups powdered sugar
-1/4 cup heavy cream
-2 and 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
-Salt, as needed
-Blue food dye
Funfetti Birthday Cake Recipe Directions
-Preheat oven to 350F degrees. Spray a 9-inch round springform or baking pan with nonstick spray. Set aside.
-In a medium bowl, mix together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside. In a large microwave-safe bowl, melt butter in the microwave. Whisk in the sugars.
-Whisk in egg, sour cream, milk, and vanilla extract until combined. Slowly mix in dry ingredients until no lumps remain. The batter will be thick. Slowly stir in sprinkles, but do not overmix because the sprinkles will bleed their color.
-Pour/spoon batter into prepared cake pan. Bake for 33-37 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let cool.
-To make the frosting, beat softened butter on medium speed with an electric or stand mixer. Beat for 3 minutes until smooth and creamy. Add powdered sugar, cream, blue food dye and vanilla extract with the mixer running. Increase to high speed and beat for 3 minutes. Add more powdered sugar if frosting is too thin or more cream if mixture is too thick.
-Frost cooled cake generously. Top cake with our Birthday Cake Pretzel Rods, or enjoy them on the side.
Our one wish for you is to add your favorite ice cream to the mix! Scoop a heaping spoonful of ice cream into a bowl and crush Fatty Sundays Birthday Cake pretzels and funfetti birthday cake into it. Be sure to add a candle and sing Happy Birthday (even if it's for yourself!).
